From the Artistic Director

As Artistic Director of Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre I have the opportunity and privilege each year to select a theatrical season that (I believe) will entertain, inspire, resonate, and challenge all of us.  I’m very excited to announce Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre’s 2015-2016 season!

In the Fall of 2015, “Theo” will present the gripping emotionally textured musical drama BLOOD BROTHERS book music and lyrics by Willy Russell. The story is about fraternal twin brothers separated at birth and the friendship,  love and ultimate tragic circumstances they find themselves in. This intimate musical drama will touch our hearts and musically soar in our venue!

Our Winter/Holiday show we celebrate the music styling of “Ol’ Blue Eyes” Frank Sinatra and his100th birthday anniversary in a Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre production of MY WAY: A TRIBUTE TO FRANK SINATRA. Conceived by David Grapes and Todd Olson with book by Todd Olson. Songs include: “Fly Me To Moon,” “The Best Is Yet To Come,” “Chicago,” “All Of Me,” and of course the classic hit “My Way” – plus many more! A perfect cozy night out during the winter/holiday season.

In the Spring of 2016, we present Jonathan Larson’s 1996 Tony Award winning rock musical/ 1996 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, RENT. Staged at the No Exit Café, this show promises to be a profoundly personal up close “event” for all of us.

Closing our 2016 season we reach into that magic theatre “trunk” in presenting our Summer Songbook Series, a musical tribute to Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse.  These two English musical masters created some of the most exciting theatrical musicals and pop songs of our time. Featuring songs from “The Roar of the Greasepaint, The Smell of the Crowd,” “Stop the World, I Wanna Get Off,” and “Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory,” songs include: “Who Can I Turn To?” “The Candy Man,” “What Kind of Fool Am I,” “Goldfinger,” “Feeling Good” and more… THE ANTHONY NEWLEY-LESLIE BRICUSSE SONGBOOK will be an original colorful cool-down from the summer heat.

Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre at its best! As we continue to grow as a cabaret theatre company setting the bar higher and higher for ourselves and our community, I am delighted to announce that for the 2015-2016 season we welcome three exceptionally talented Resident Artists: Jeremy Ramey, Resident Music Director; Adam Veness, Resident Set Designer; and Bill Morey, Resident Costume Designer. These three gentlemen have been an integral part of our creative success here at Theo and I am fortunate to have them on our “team” for the entire 2015-2016 season.

Thank you for all the support and please consider a Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre 2015-2016 subscription. I promise it’s gonna be FANTASTIC!
